Pius Ilende Iikwambi is a highly accomplished legal professional with extensive expertise in various facets of law. Holding a Master of Laws (LLM) specializing in International Trade Law from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Honours from the University of Namibia. Pius has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in his academic pursuits. He has furthered his legal education with postgraduate diplomas from reputable institutions such as the University of Johannesburg and the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
With a strong foundation in law, Pius has gained valuable experience across different sectors. He is currently employed as a Legal Officer at the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN), where he plays a pivotal role in overseeing legal matters and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. His responsibilities include drafting legal documents, conducting due diligence, and providing legal advise to management.
Prior to his role at DBN, Pius contributed significantly to the Namibian Competition Commission (NaCC), where he held positions as a Senior Legal Analyst and Legal Analyst. During his tenure, he played a key role in enforcing competition laws, providing legal advice, and managing various projects aimed at promoting fair competition practices.
Pius is also passionate about academia and has been involved in part-time lecturing at the University of Namibia, where he shares his knowledge in subjects such as Company Law, Competition Law, Law of Contract, Law of Property, Workplace Dispute Resolution, Accountancy for Lawyers and Administrative Law. Additionally, he has engaged in research activities, presenting his findings at prestigious symposiums such as the 2019 Meeting of the Minds annual research symposium held in Kigali, Rwanda.
