Risk and compliance matters are dealt with in terms of the provisions of The Legal Practitioners Act 15 of 1995 by members of the Board of Control, supported by its auditors and the relevant policy guidelines.
The Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund (LPFF) is established in terms of section 53 of the Legal Practitioners Act 1995 for the purpose of reimbursing persons who may suffer pecuniary loss as a result of the theft of money or property entrusted to a Legal Practitioner in the course of his/her practice as such, or where a Legal Practitioner acts as executor or administrator in a deceased estate, or as a trustee in an insolvent estate.
